Samsung
A Creative Operation Built for Washington
How a brand, a content engine, and a production infrastructure shifted the national IoT conversation — and earned Samsung a seat at the table.
— Summary
Mission
Build a policy brand from scratch — one capable of leading a complex national conversation through engaging content, high-profile events, and a multi-channel media operation.
The Win
Shifted the IoT regulatory narrative from risk to opportunity, establishing Samsung as the authoritative creative and intellectual voice of the global IoT dialogue.
— The Challenge
The Narrative Vacuum
As IoT emerged as a national policy issue, the conversation in Washington was being written by people who didn't understand — or didn't trust — the technology. Samsung faced a real business risk: regulation drafted without its perspective. But traditional corporate communications wouldn't move this audience. What was needed was a brand with genuine creative authority — one that could produce content compelling enough to earn attention, events prestigious enough to command the room, and a media presence sustained enough to shift a narrative over time. The challenge was building all of that from nothing.
A Brand Built for the Room
I conceived and directed the full Vision for Tomorrow brand — identity, content strategy, and production infrastructure — purpose-built to operate at the intersection of brand creativity and policy influence.
Vision for Tomorrow Brand
Developed the complete visual identity and editorial voice for Samsung's policy platform — a brand distinct enough to stand on its own, credible enough to operate in the policy ecosystem, and flexible enough to span social, digital, print, and live events.
Multi-Channel Content Operation
Built a sustained content engine across social, a dedicated newsroom, and digital publishing — producing thematic narratives around Smart Health, Education, and the Environment that made complex policy issues compelling and accessible.
Washington Post Transformers Event
Directed Samsung's presence at this high-profile event — producing displays, technology activations, and sponsored experiences. Jeff Bezos attended. The creative had to hold up in one of the most scrutinized rooms in Washington.
Vision for Tomorrow Campaign Launch
Designed and produced the executive-level presentation for Samsung's senior leadership — attended by technology leaders, policy figures, congressmen, and prominent Washington voices. This was CES-caliber executive communication design for an audience that expected nothing less.
Film & Editorial Content
Deployed film crews and produced long-form and short-form video as part of an integrated editorial strategy — giving the platform the production depth and credibility of a media company.
— The Impact
Securing a Seat at the Table
The Vision for Tomorrow platform transformed Samsung's presence in Washington from a corporate voice into a recognized creative and intellectual force in the policy conversation.
Shifted the IoT regulatory narrative from security risk to economic opportunity — reframing the technology's potential $11T global impact as a policy asset.
Established Samsung as the primary facilitator of the national IoT dialogue, with measurable credibility among influencers, policymakers, and press.
Produced a body of creative work — brand, content, events, and film — demonstrating how a complex policy objective can be advanced through genuine creative excellence.
The Vision for Tomorrow architecture became the ongoing communications standard for Samsung's North American public affairs and CSR programs.
